The Queen’s Fly

Who knew that flies could be so colorful? This fly chose to sleep on a bed of Queen Anne’s lace. On my trip across the country in 2009 I brought one book to read: John Shaw’s The Nature Photographer’s Complete Guide to Professional Field Techniques. While I still have trouble with the sunny 16 rule off the top of my head, I did learn that you need to get up before the bugs do if you want to take photos of them.

I’m not sure that taking photos of bugs is still in my set of goals.
