New Mexico Panorama

‘m still going through photos from my 2009 trip. I took so many pictures that I got totally overwhelmed. I took this series for a panorama while stopped at the rest area near Springer, New Mexico on Interstate 25. I believe that the clouds here followed me across the country in their effort to gift me with an interesting sky, but it seemed like most of the time they just wanted to rain on me. They knew I had spent 20 years in the desert and needed a bit of moisture.

It’s possible that you’ve noticed that there are usually light poles, street signs, wires, train tracks, and other distracting man-made elements in my photos. That’s by choice. If I wanted to get rid of the man-made objects, I could use Photoshop, I could go somewhere there are no man-made objects, or I could simply point my camera in a different direction. I leave them in on purpose.
