Damselfly

This damselfly was very cooperative. He stayed very still while I got closer and closer, trying to get a good composition with his shadow. Maybe he was resting after a long day of flitting around the river.

From my 2009 road trip, this was taken in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. The old historic bridge goes over the Cottonwood River right next to the small waterfall that the town gets its name from.  The bridge is closed to traffic and leads to a park on the other side of the river from the city. There is a newer bridge for traffic over the river.
